youthinasia

I've lived in Asia for almost 7 years and never recorded anything that has happened to me or taken any photographs. It is like I have never existed. this blog aims to remedy that. I may even buy a camera!

Visited Kano's site http://kanedavidson.blogspot.com/ and saw his article on "Japanese Onsen". Well, this is Dundee Onsen and spending time here can be equally relaxing...aah...check out the clientele

Just visited Lee's blog and thought about these guys. Mum sent me a copy of "Fast Bikes" for my birthday. She has obviously never opened a copy of this "soft porn" mag before and assumes it reads like Lee's biker blog...hehe. Anyway, these guys have their own "test fleet". Each tester has spent on average about 5000 quid on bike upgrades with the dimwit editor having spent over 10000 quid(yes TEN THOUSAND POUNDS) on his Kawasaki ZX6!!!

These guys really are twats...

Wednesday morning and I am bored... Had staff meetings yesterday which went on till 5pm. Met roger on the ferry. Roger is a painter and decorator and used to run my local pub before it went bust. Roger also runs our "Mark 6" syndicate. The Mark Six is just like the UK lottery. the crucial difference is that we have never won anything. This week for example we had 37 draws placed...to no avail.

Went home and cooked mince and tatties again as its freezing here. I then subjected Grace to 2 hours solid of "Air Crash Investigation - Egypt Air 990 followed by "Seismic Seconds - Sioux City Air Disaster".

It goes without saying that Grace was impressed...Friday will be Grace's second time in an an aeroplane...maybe we'll watch a movie tonight instead...any suggestions?

Its Monday morning and I'm sitting at my desk again waiting for the week to be over! Went up hiking on Lantau Peak yesterday. Grace did Lantau and Sean and I then added Sunset Peak to the bag. We intendede to throw in a third Chinese named peak but decided that a brisk jog back to the Turkish Restaurant - Bar in Mui wo was the better option.

Grace and I are warily watching the events unfolding in the Philippines at the moment as we are heading down there on Friday. Grace is going to visit her family in th eprovince for a couple of weeks and I'm off to Singapore once I do some flying and scoop some beers in the Philippines. Foggo has his full licence now and is rated on two aircraft types. I've been typically slack and despite being able to taxi, take off, navigate, communicate and land...I've done bugger all paperwork and exams. :( I promise to take things more seriously after the Summer. You wont hear from me next week then as I'll be in Sing with some students doing outward bound. I'll keep you posted on the unrest in Manila though as that should make some good reading. Gotta go. Babysitting some students as a favour.

Tuesday morning. I am sitting here at my desk having just enabled "comment moderation". I have a grade 6 IT class at 930 followed by a math class at 1035 :(. I really don't like math very much. I then have a grade 8 science class and it's been so long since I had them, I'm not exactly sure what we are doing...Anyway, if you think my lab looks messy-well it is. Hehe. Forgot to take the photos out of the DVD player so no BBQ shots I guess. Met my mate Sean on the ferry to work this morning. Sean is 40 and has never had a real job. He is coming mountain biking with me on Saturday and hiking on Sunday. I gotta go and do some work now.

William Topaz McGonagall

Dundee's 3rd poet after Ian "The Wheel" White and Lee Carson.

Read my mate Lee's fine piece of work on Jon's blog this morning and almost wet myself. Mate. It is class.
Perhaps you could enliven your blog by adding a few lines of poetic verse at the end of each posting.

While researching this submission I came across another Dundee great. Anyone remember "The Planet" bar. Anyone ever been in there?

I also remembered Kane and I looking for the roughest bar in Inverness 2 years ago. We found it. Walked in. Ordered 2 pints and sidled over to the jukebox. Obviously either: a) It was unusul for anyone to put money in the jukebox or..
b) nobody had any money
because all eyes turned to face the boys from Skye. In a fluster we hit some seemingly random keys. The speakers crackled and....."Three Lions on a Shirt" with backing track sung by Becks and Cole boomed out. Flee

As promised here are some snaps from our recent BBQ / hike. The girls invited some friends to join us. I'm sure they were told about the hike, yet all arrived wearing clothing more suited to less strenuous activity. These shots were taken around our little house on Lantau island.

Some of you may remember that it was my birthday not that long ago.
We celebrated with champage brunch at the Excelsior.Pictured from left to right are; Stef, Grace, Babes, Jason, Jenny, Mike and Johnny Fingers. The champagne was free flow and it did indeed flow quite freely....

Hi folks. This is blogging then. I guess the idea is that blogs have to contain recent news and info. So this was my weekend...

I have moved back to Lantau island after a 2 year stint living in central Hong Kong. Grace, my girlfriend who is pictured here, has just joined me in Hong Kong from the Philippines. Had a lazy weekend on Lantau with Grace and friends cooking meat on the BBQ and drinking too much red wine. Grace and I live in a small apartment below my good friend Michael.Grace (right) is pictured here with a friend at a small, inpromptue party held on Saturday night. On Sunday we had a BBQ and I'll try to post these pictures tomorrow.
